به گزارش پایگاه خبری دیده بان البرز، یحیی دارایی، مدیرکل میراث‌فرهنگی، گردشگری و صنایع‌دستی استان البرز گفت: آسیاب مهدی‌آباد به عنوان یکی از بناهای تاریخی متعلق به دوران قاجاریه در نظرآباد، در فهرست آثار ملی ثبت و طی سال‌های قبل به طور کامل بازسازی و مرمت شده است.
وی با اشاره به اینکه این آسیاب آبی تا سال ۱۳۵۰ برای آسیاب کردن غلات و گندم مورد استفاده قرار می گرفته است، افزود: آب مورد نیاز برای این کار از قنات‌های منطقه تأمین می‌شد که هنوز بقایای این قنات ها در منطقه ازبکی وجود دارد.
مدیرکل میراث‌فرهنگی، گردشگری و صنایع‌دستی استان البرز عنوان کرد: حدود دو سال پیش این آسیاب به بخش خصوصی با کاربری گردشگری واگذار شد و با اتمام قرارداد بهره بردار پیشین، آمادگی واگذاری این آسیاب به بخش خصوصی وجود دارد.
دارایی در پایان خاطرنشان کرد: بهره برداری از این بنا با کاربری‌هایی در حوزه فرهنگی و با هدف رونق گردشگری در استان البرز در دستور کار قرار گرفته که این موضوع علاوه بر رونق گردشگری، به حفظ و نگهداری بنا هم کمک می‌کند.
