این روز به شرف الشمس معروف است، روزی که در آن خورشید ۱۹ درجه در برج حمل یا همان فروردین قرار می‌گیرد. این روز از نظر منجمان مسلمان روز بسیار پرخیر و برکتی است. مردم از گذشته معتقد بودند که در این روز، نمایندگان خورشید به زمین می‌آیند و چند ساعتی در زمین می‌مانند.
خواص و آداب خواندن دعای شرف الشمس
سنگ شرف شمس برای چشم زخم، گشایش امور، برآورده شدن آرزوها، افزایش رزق و روزی استفاده می شود. علاوه بر این موارد، سنگ عقیق هم خواصی دارد که در روایت های دینی به همراه داشتن آن توصیه شده است. این سنگ باعث ایمنی در سفر، افزایش روزی، خیر و نیکی، آسانی و استجابت دعا است و شر و بدی را از فرد دور می‌کند.
پیامبر اکرم (ص) می‌فرمایند: هر کس یکی ازعقیق های سرخ و زرد و سفید را در دست داشته باشد جز خیر و نیکی و فراخی روزی و سلامتی نمی‌بیند و از شر پادشاه ظالم و از هر چه آدمی از آن می‌ترسد و حذر می‌کند امان می‌ماند.
از امام موسی کاظم (ع) نیز در حدیثی نقل شده است: انگشتر زرد در دست کنید که موجب آسانی است و در آن هیچ دشواری نباشد.
برای گرفتن حاجت در روز ۱۹ فروردین دو رکعت نماز حاجت بخوانید و ۱۰۰ صلوات بفرستید، سپس دعا و حرز آن را بر روی کاغذ نوشته، حاجت خود را نیز در آن ذکر کنید و کاغذ را در قرآن بگذارید.
به یاد داشته باشید که اگر از نگین استفاده می کنید سعی کنید هر سال در ساعت ذکر شده و با آداب کامل بوسیله یک سوزن روی نقش کنده شده را دوباره خراش دهید. اگر روی کاغذ نوشتید آن را باز نکنید و به کسی نشان ندهید و در آخرین چهارشنبه سال به آب روان بسپارید.

«بسم الله الرّحمن الرّحیم، اَللّهُم اِنّی اَسئَلُکَ بِالهاءِ مِنْ اِسمِکَ الْاَعظَم و بالثَلآثِ العِصّیِ و بالالَفِ المُقَّوِم و بِالمِیمِ الطَمیس الاَبتَر و بالسِّلمِ و بالاَربَعَه الَتِی ه‍ِی کالکَفِ بِلا مُعصَم و بِالهاءِ المَشقُوقَه و بالواوِ المُعظَّم صوره اِسمکَ الشَّریفِ الاَعظَم اَن تُصَلِیَ علی سَیِّدِنا مُحمَّدِ وَ آلِهِ بعدد حروف ماجری بِالقلم و اَن تَقضِی حاجَتِی».
اشکال حرز شرف الشمس
حرز شرف شمس که روی نگین و یا عقیق حکاکی می‌شود، آداب خاصی دارد، ایم حرز شامل پنج اسم اعظم خداوند است که آن‌ها را کلمات مبارکه «الله، جمیل، رحمن، مومن، نور» گفته‌اند و به جای نقش از پنج حرف اول آن‌ها به صورت «ا.ج.ر.م.ن» می‌توان استفاده کرد. این نقش ۱۳ حرف دارد، چهار حرف از تورات، چهار حرف از انجیل و پنج حرف از قرآن کریم.
نکات مهم در طریقه نوشتن دعای شرف شمس باید رعایت شود
زمان نوشتن دعای شرف شمس هیچ خطی دوبار کشیده نشود.
در دعای شرف شمس سوراخ های «ستاره» و «میم» و «ها» و «واو» بسته نشود.
خطوط ابتدا و انتهای ستاره یگدیگر را قطع نکنند.
باید دقت شود در حین نوشتن دعای شرف شمس اندازه «الف» ها یکسان باشد و « واو» آخر روی تمام نقش کشیده شود.
دعای شرف شمس روی کاغذ باید با گلاب و زعفران نوشته شود. جدول ۴*۴ شرف شمس نیز بدین شکل است که خواص یکسانی با نقش دارد.
