به گزارش پایگاه خبری دیده بان البرز، شهید اکبر حسینقلی پور، فرزند غیبعلی، در تاریخ دوم اردیبهشت ۱۳۴۳، در تهران دیده به جهان گشود. پدرش کارگر و مادرش خانه دار بود. او فرزند پنجم خانواده بود و دو خواهر و دو برادر داشت.
خواهر زاده شهید در گفت و گو با خبرنگار ما می گوید: وی در سال ۱۳۵۰ وارد مدرسه شد و تحصیلات ابتدایی خویش را در تهران آغاز کرد و با سعی و تلاش فراوان دوران تحصیل را تا مقطع دبیرستان ادامه داد، سپس به همراه خانواده به کرج مهاجرت کردند. در زمان اوج گیری انقلاب اسلامی در راهپیمایی ها شرکت فعال داشت و سعی می کرد در براندازی حکومت پهلوی نقش آفرین باشد.
بعد از پیروزی انقلاب اسلامی و تشکیل سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی، به عضویت این نهاد در آمد و با شروع جنگ تحمیلی عراق علیه ایران، به جبهه اعزام شد و در نهایت در ۱۳ آبان ۱۳۶۲ در جریان عملیات والفجر۴ در منطقه پنجوین عراق بر اثر اصابت ترکش خمپاره به ناحیه سر، به درجه رفیع شهادت نائل آمد و در بهشت زهرای تهران آرام گرفت.
خواهرزاده وی می گوید: شهید حسینقلی پور، فردی شوخ طبع و مهربان و در عین حال پرجنب و جوش و خانواده دوست بود و به اهالی محل کمک می کرد و تحمل ظلم و ستم به دیگران را نداشت. به مستمندان در حد توان، کمک مالی می کرد. او به طراحی با قلم نیز علاقه خاصی داشت و در یکی از آثار به جا مانده از وی تصویری از شهید بهشتی ترسیم شده است.
شهید حسینقلی پور در بخشی از وصیت نامه خود می نویسد: «خوشا به حال عاشقى كه حالش عنايتى كند و توفيقى دهد تا با نيتى خالص و دور از هر آلايشى، تنها براى خدا در اين راه قدم بردارد و قفس تنگ و تاريك تن را بشكند. اى همرزمان، اى كسانى‌كه بدون هيچ چشمداشتى شب را به صبح مى رسانيد در راه خدا و پروردگارتان پاسدارى مى دهيـد، سعى كنيد نيت هايتان خالص باشد و به آن عمل کنید…
مادرم، هرگز در شهادت من ناله و زارى مكن (اشـك غيراز زارى كردن است) و براى من حجله اى بگذار و بر روى آن بنويس عاشق الله و مهدى و ثارالله بود و سعى كرد همچو اصحاب امام حسين (ع) با خونـش به اسلام خدمتى كند…».
