به گزارش پایگاه خبری دیده بان البرز، مجید درگی، مدیرکل حفاظت محیط زیست استان البرز، حفاظت از طبیعت و تنوع زیستی و جلوگیری از عوامل تخریب طبیعت را یکی از وظایف سازمان محیط زیست دانست و گفت: با توجه به اینکه همه ساله عده ای افراد سودجو و فرصت طلب در ایام تعطیلات نوروز، اقدام به تصرف اراضی ملی و ساخت و ساز غیرمجاز می کنند، بر اساس هماهنگی های صورت گرفته، گشت ماموران یگان حفاظت در ایام تعطیلات نوروزی فعال شد.
وی ضمن قدردانی از همکاری جوامع محلی در اعلام گزارش تخلفات زیست محیطی به ویژه تخریب و تصرف اراضی ملی حفاظت شده، آلودگی آب و ساخت و سازهای غیرمجاز، مطرح کرد: پیشگیری از تخلفات زیست محیطی در اولویت کاری محیط زیست خواهد بود و با متخلفین طبق قانون و مقررات برخورد خواهد شد.
استان البرز دارای یک منطقه حفاظت شده ۶۴ هزار هکتاری البرز مرکزی (بخش جنوبی)، یک رودخانه حفاظت شده کرج و دو منطقه شکار ممنوع طالقان به وسعت ۷۵ هزار هکتار و تالاب صالحیه به وسعت ۱۶ هزار هکتار است.
